I can't believe it's been 6 weeks since I last posted, but a lot has been going on around here. We've had a lot of friends and family visiting in that time and are only now getting back to normal...
Here's a recap of what's been going on:
4th of July - We had a pretty quiet day on the 4th. While it was strange to spend it away from our families and friends for the first time, it was nice to be on our own and be able to focus on how we really wanted to celebrate the holiday. After a slow start, we went into town to check out Castle Rock's celebrations at a local park. We ran into a few friends and settled down to enjoy the music, good food and general people watching (which included a random appearance by Dog the Bounty Hunter, family and camera crew...). We stayed through the fireworks, which ended abruptly (Tyrone was not happy!) when the hillside caught on fire. Lauren really enjoyed her first fireworks show, but since it was way past her bedtime, she managed to fall asleep in the middle of the show...
